I have often heard God described as the Seeker's Finder but it seemed He was doing a good job at hiding from me.
I was seeking yet He just wouldn't be found. I was near the temple but not near enough. Relegated to the shadows of the Outer Court despite my inconsolable desire to touch that Lethal Glory for myself.
God why the sustained silence?
I blamed Him until I remembered the gentle urgent nudges:
"Watch and pray, that you do not fall into..."
"Watch for just..."
"Pray... Our Father..."
"The Devil has demanded... But I have prayed for you..."
"Watch with me..."
The memories tumble on each other; He, watching and praying for a test He already passed while men I slept.
I remember the notifications I put on silence and every ignored prompting on days where He felt so real I took Majesty for granted because I felt He owed me at least another chance. Times where it felt fitting for the King to wait on me.
After all, God is love.
Looking back, I realise that though the art of drawing back doesn't necessarily happen in a day; it does begin from one.
It's the grand finale of constantly saving His instructions and Presence for later. The result of only sparing the left overs of my strength and obedience over time.
"Lord, I'd talk to you later..."
"I'm busy... I'm tired..."
Until mercy acts that bring beautiful drought seasons to remind me of my need for Water. Silence that instills thirst.
What am I saying?
Make time for what matters... If He really does matter.
"Seek the Lord while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near."
There is a time to seek the Lord and the time is now.
"Early will I seek you."
Early as in TODAY; early in eternity. Early in the day. As early as now.
So today, IF you hear his voice, don't harden your heart.
Sometimes apostasy is not outright rebellion but the end of the cozy drift of playing it safe, convenient and lukewarm.
He is calling you into a deeper experience. To be away from His Presence is to die. To be almost in is to be out.
NOW that you have heard His voice,
