I'll be honest with you — there are days when faith feels hard. Days when prayers seem to hit the ceiling and bounce back. Days when doubts creep in and questions multiply. If you've ever felt this way, know that you're not alone.
The Honesty God Welcomes
For years, I thought being a "good Christian" meant never doubting, never questioning, never struggling. But the more I read Scripture, the more I see that God welcomes our honest struggles. David cried out in anguish. Job questioned everything. Even Jesus asked, "Why have you forsaken me?"
Our doubts don't disqualify us from faith — they're often part of deepening it.
What I've Learned in the Hard Seasons
Looking back at my hardest moments of faith, I've discovered a few things:
- Feelings aren't facts: Just because faith feels distant doesn't mean God is
- Community matters: Surrounding ourselves with others who believe when we're struggling
- Small steps count: Sometimes faith is simply showing up, even when you don't feel like it
- Grace is enough: God doesn't expect perfection — He offers grace
I believe; help my unbelief! — Mark 9:24
An Invitation
If faith feels hard for you right now, I want to invite you to be honest about it. Not to pretend everything is fine, but to bring your real, messy, questioning self to God. He can handle it. In fact, I think He prefers our honest struggles to our polished pretenses.
You're not failing at faith. You're living it — authentically, beautifully, humanly. And that's exactly where grace meets us. ✝️
